This page explains what cookies are, which ones Solvebility.com uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. It works alongside our Privacy Policy, not instead of it.
What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file a website saves to your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit it. It lets the site remember something about you between visits, like a preference, a login, or what you looked at last time.
First-party cookies come from the site you’re actually visiting (Solvebility.com). Third-party cookies come from a different domain than the one you’re on, usually an ad network or an analytics provider, and are most often used for tracking and advertising.

What we don’t cookie: your calculator inputs. GPA, fertilizer doses, irrigation rates, and every other calculation run entirely in your browser and are never saved to a cookie or sent to our servers.

Keep this table current. Google’s analytics cookie names and durations above are publicly documented and stable. Mediavine’s ad partner list changes over time; run a fresh cookie scan on the live site periodically and update this table so it matches what’s actually firing.
Advertising Cookies (Mediavine)
When Mediavine advertising is enabled on Solvebility.com, Mediavine and its advertising partners set first- and third-party cookies to serve and measure ads. These can collect data like your IP address, device type, browser type, and a hashed version of your email, and may be linked with data collected elsewhere to build interest-based ad profiles.
The full, legally required disclosure of exactly what Mediavine collects and how to opt out is in Section 4 of our Privacy Policy. We keep that language there, word for word as Mediavine requires it, rather than duplicating it here where it could drift out of sync.
Consent choices: Depending on where you’re browsing from, you may see a cookie consent banner (EU/UK) or a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link (US states with applicable privacy laws). Both are provided by Mediavine’s consent platform and let you manage or reject advertising cookies at any time.
Managing & Disabling Cookies
You can control cookies in a few ways:
- Browser settings — every major browser lets you block, delete, or get notified about cookies. Look under Settings → Privacy/Security.
- Mediavine’s consent banner — click “Manage Preferences” in the site footer (if shown) to opt in or out of specific advertising cookies.
- Do Not Sell or Share link — US visitors in applicable states can use this link, shown on the site, to opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information for advertising.
- Industry opt-out tools — the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) and Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org) let you opt out of interest-based ads across many sites at once.
Heads up: blocking cookies entirely may stop calculator features that rely on local storage from remembering your inputs, and you’ll still see ads on Solvebility.com, just less personalized ones.
Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal or a “Global Privacy Control” (GPC) signal. There’s no single accepted standard for how sites must respond to DNT, so Solvebility.com doesn’t currently change its behavior based on it. Where GPC is legally recognized as an opt-out request (for example, under California law), Mediavine’s consent platform is built to honor it for the advertising cookies it controls.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our tools, advertising partners, or legal requirements change. We’ll update the “Last Updated” date at the top when we do. Check back occasionally, especially if you have specific cookie preferences set.
